Aldergrove Community League Child Care is owned and operated by the Aldergrove Community League. This program has been operating as a non-profit after school care service for children six through twelve years of age since September of 1985. The kindergarten program began operation in September of 1999.
Program Philosophy:
At Aldergrove Community League Child Care, we see ourselves a "Home Away From Home." It is our goal to provide a nurturing, loving and stimulating environment in which the children are allowed to grow and develop naturally and successfully. The children are provided with a safe environment where they will feel it is okay to be themselves.
Play is a child's natural method of learning. Our program arrives to make use of this natural strategy by allowing the child the freedom of play through opportunities, experiences, material and interaction in a relaxed and cheerful environment. The children in our care will be provided with many different activities, centers and equipment in order to foster their growth and development. During the day, the children will engage in activity in their kindergarten play space. However, when the out - of - school care children are here, the daycare children will have the opportunity to engage in activities with them. This will enable the children to learn from play and build positive relationships with older children. It is the staff's job to provide these activities and experiences. It is also the responsibility of the staff the ensure the children are ensured that they are very special.
Our goals at Aldergrove Child Care are simple ones. We strive to show and teach the children the basic skills of life so that they may grow to be loving and successful individuals. Our hope is that the children will look back on daycare as a positive experience in their lives. When the children are grown, we want them to look back upon child care as a place where they were loved and always felt safe and special. Our belief is that if children are in a place where they feel safe and special, they will develop into caring and confident adults.
